Last Weeks Walks
Last week the Wednesday walkers finally enjoyed a day with no rain for their walks around Newlands and Seton Nossiter Park. We had 35 SS and 18 FF and 12 PP so that was a very good turnout of 65 walkers in total. Unfortunately the Thursday group had to cancel their walks due to rain. On Friday there were 16 walkers scheduled to conquer the Te Whiti Park/Waddington Winder track loop. This week's walks are as set out below. Cheers and enjoy your walks. Brian.
This Weeks Walks (Wednesday 10 May)
This coming Wednesday’s walks have been prepared noting that a high number of the PP’s and SS’s walkers have a CPR course starting at 10:30am in the Johnsonville Community Centre. The parking for the walks is in the Alex Moore carpark off Bannister Avenue and a distance of just under 0.8km from the main entrance of the Johnsonville Community Centre. The walks have been kept shorter than usual ensuring that these PP and SS walkers will have ample time to complete the walks and then walk the extra 0.8km to the Community Centre. If there is any doubt (unlikely) about having enough time then both the SS’s and PP’s walkers can take a shortcut.
The FF’s are having their normal length walk and with this starting at the usual time the walkers will readily have time to return home, perhaps time for a coffee at Simmer or lunch at home and return in time for the 12:30pm start time of their CPR course. Lunch in Johnsonville or in the carpark could also be considered as an option prior to the course.
PP’s: A 2.58km loop starting and ending in the Alex Moore Carpark leaving a 0.8km walk to the Community Centre. Only a few gentle and kind hills with rest generally flat. Can be cut short in the unlikely case of time constraints. You can see the walk here.
SS’s: A 4.28km loop starting and ending in the Alex Moore Carpark leaving a 0.8km walk to the Community Centre. Can be cut short in the unlikely case of time constraints. A few gentle hills but generally fairly flat. You can see the walk here.
FF’s: A 7.45km loop starting and ending in the Alex Moore carpark. The walk extends up into a part of Newlands and of course there are hills. You can see the walk here.
Parking
In the Alex Moore Car Park carpark which is accessed off Bannister Avenue.
Coffee
Those attending the 10:30am CPR Course will probably not have time for coffee before the course. The FF’s with their 12:30am start time should be left plenty of time after the walk to consider coffee or lunch. Nothing has been booked.
Website
When you open the website to view your walk have a quick look at the “Home Page”. This usually has a new picture each week generally showing a view from one of our walks.
Cancellation
If the walks are cancelled an email will be sent out as early as possible but definitely before 8:00am.
Enjoy your walks.
Brian Vincent.
Koha
Every week we leave a note about Koha in the newsletter. We have no idea what private sharing arrangements are in place regarding getting rides but we trust that those who don’t regularly bring cars do make up for it in some small way, be it buying a coffee for the driver or by making some small cash donation.

Photos
Below are some photos from last week. Walkers please try and take a photo of each group on walking days and email them to peter@jville.kiwi preferably small size (around 450kb).
