Last Weeks Walks
On Wednesday the weather gods at last smiled and 65 walkers were able to enjoy the roads and footpaths around Pukerua Bay. There were 14 PPs, 29 SSs and 22 FFs. The weather was not so kind on Thursday and the evening walk was cancelled. Friday saw fewer walkers than normal tackle the Escarpment Walkway with a bit of an extension at the end in Paekakariki to make sure that everyone got enough exercise.

Reminder
Please ensure that you inform your group’s leader if you leave a walk partway through.
This Weeks Walks (Wednesday 16 August)
We shift back to Ngaio for this weeks walks. They all start at Nairnville Park and are new walks but do cover similar ground to previous walks in this area. We couldn’t walk the track at the end of Awarua Street last time as it was closed for upgrading so the SS’s are giving it a go this week.
PP’s: A 4.67km loop walk that is on footpaths and some pedestrian walkways. The walk is undulating with no real steep areas. You can see the walk here.
SS’s: A 5.81km loop walk that is also on footpaths and uses a few pedestrian walkways as short cuts. The walk includes a couple of suburban street climbs with also a small climb on the track through the bush. Nothing really too strenuous. You can see the walk here.
FF’s: A 6.91km loop walk on roads, footpaths, steps and pedestrian walkways. You can see the walk here.
Enjoy your walks

Parking
Parking for all three groups is in the Nairnville Park carpark and the surrounding streets.Coffee:
Coffee
We will tell Simmer that a number of us will be coming for coffee after our walks. You are welcome to try elsewhere on your way home if you think Simmer might be too crowded. They generally cope quite well.
Website
When you open the website to view your walk have a quick look at the “Home Page”. This usually has a new picture each week generally showing a view from one of our walks.
Cancellation
If the walks are cancelled an email will be sent out as early as possible but definitely before 8:00am.

You can look at the walk schedule for the rest of August here.
