2023 Christmas Lunch Function
We are pleased to confirm arrangements are in hand for our Christmas lunch to be held at The Pines on 29 November 2023. Once again we will be providing bus transport from Churton Park for this event – pickup and departure times to follow shortly. The bus cost is $10 per person and the lunch is $42 per person. The Pines is an excellent venue and the lunch that they provided last year was superb. We can expect the same standards again this year.
Please book by paying either $52 (bus and lunch) per person or $42 (lunch only) into our Bank account 02-0524-0233091-000 - Just add the word “Christmas” in the reference field.
Looking forward to celebrating the Festive season with everyone.

Please ensure that you inform your group’s leader if you leave a walk partway through.
This Weeks Walks (Wednesday 25 October)
Andy has used his knowledge gained from visiting family in Whitby and come up with three walks for the Walking Group all based within that Suburb. One is a new route, the other two walks are ones that he has prepared in the past.
PP’s: A 3.7km loop walk that takes in the two Whitby Lakes. The gradient is reasonably gentle. (Not flat). The walk is mainly on good quality tracks with some of the walk on streets. You can see the walk here.
SS’s: A 6.5km loop with about half on good quality tracks and the rest on roads. The route has been used previously; the route is undulating so there are some minor climbs. You can see the walk here.
FF’s: A 8.4km walk that contains two loops and takes in a mixture of flat and hills, tracks and roads. You can see the walk here.
Enjoy your walks

Parking
Parking is in our usual Whitby spot, that is in Adventure Park which is accessed off Discovery Drive and is opposite the Whitby Shopping Village.
Coffee
We will have told Columbus Coffee, (Mitre 10 Mega, Porirua) that we are coming for coffee and they generally reserve some tables for us on the edge of the garden area.
Website
When you open the website to view your walk have a quick look at the “Home Page”. This usually has a new picture each week generally showing a view from one of our walks.
Cancellation
If the walks are cancelled an email will be sent out as early as possible but definitely before 8:00am.
Walk Schedules
You can look at the walk schedule for the rest of October here.
