Churton Park Community Walkers
Newsletter 17th November 2024
Last week’s walks.
We were pleased to welcome Fiona Lancaster to the walking group on Wednesday. We hope that you enjoyed the walk, Fiona, and also the company. We look forward to seeing you again. There were 59 walkers - 6 PPs, 33 SSs and 20 FFs - on Wednesday's walk. Thursday evening saw just 2 walkers out and about locally; mainly off-road, but with some streets, for a total distance of 7.9km. The Friday walk was, unfortunately, cancelled due to rain.

Walk Details for Wednesday 20th November 2024
This Week's Walks: Keeping closer to home this coming Wednesday with all three walks in Seton Nossiter Park. They are all old walks which we tried to carry out in October, but the weather intervened.
The walks will start at 9:20am from the designated parking.
PPs: A 4.07km there and back walk on a bush track. The first half is an easy rise; the return all downhill. The track is a good all-weather track. The walk can be shortened at any time by turning around and heading back to the cars. There may be a little bit of softer ground so good shoes are recommended. You can see the walk here
SSs: A 5.51km walk starting on the Lawson’s Track, then onto the streets of Newlands and then back via Bushland Grove to Lawson’s Track and then back to the start point. Although all tracks have good surfaces, good shoes are recommended for the tracks. You can see the walk here
FFs: A 7.55km clockwise loop walk firstly using the streets of Newlands and returning by the tracks in Seton Nossiter Park. You can see the walk on MapoMeter here and on Plotaroute here
Parking: The parking for all three groups is in the Seton Nossiter Park’s carpark which is accessed directly off Mark Avenue.
Coffee: Coffee is back at Simmer for those interested. We will advise them that a number of us will be coming for coffee after our walks.
Russell Paterson
Reminder
Please ensure that you inform your group’s leader if you leave a walk partway through.
