Current Wednesday Walk

20 January 2021

Convenor’s Comment

Our first week of walking for 2021 has now been completed and what stunning weather it was for all groups.  Perhaps a tad too hot particularly when pounding up the hills but still very enjoyable to be back walking in an organised group and catching up with those we have not seen for a few weeks.

All groups had good turnouts this past week, with over 50 taking to the streets and hills of Churton Park on Wednesday. The Thursday evening group, 5 of whom took part, walked through Trelissick Park and the surrounding area, while the Friday group of 15, went to Battle Hill where they had the opportunity to view the progress of Transmission Gully, feed the eels and have an enjoyable picnic and beer after a very hot walk.  Here’s hoping the weather holds up for this week’s walks.

A reminder that in this weather conditions, it is important to keep hydrated before, during and after the walks. We do recommend that each and every one of you carries a drink bottle while out exercising as well as slapping on sunscreen and wearing sunhats, although I don’t think I need to remind you of these.

I look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday.  By the way, the QR code will be available again for scanning at the briefing so that we continue to do our bit for the Covid-19 situation.
