Convenor’s Report
Wellingtonian’s generally say that Auckland is a great place to visit but that they wouldn’t like to live there. Right at this moment no Wellingtonian’s want to visit anymore. Hang on; a lot of us Wellingtonian’s have kids who shifted to Auckland relating to employment and then there a lot of us that now have grandchildren in Auckland. Perhaps we still want to visit Auckland but now we are not allowed to. Oh well!! Imagine the views of people living in Dunedin and Invercargill being locked down from problems created at least 1,200 kms away. (Over 50 days walk away.)
Trust all walkers are keeping well and getting out for a Local “bubble” walk following all the Level 4 rules. A few have been spotted. So we will hopefully be getting down to Level 3 next week but it still means no organised walks for us.
Alison’s Corner
Our incomplete records show that there is indeed one walker who will have a birthday this coming week. So Happy Birthday to Gay Hoffman. Gay will have to put up with a Home Cooked birthday meal this year. We trust she has an enjoyable special day. If there is a walker who we have missed this week we do indeed trust that they also have an enjoyable special day.
Last Weeks Walks
Cancelled due to Lockdown. This included Thursday and Friday’s walks as well.
Away Walks
David and Wayne have organised a meeting to discuss matters relating to the away trip to National Park/Ohakune and Whakatane. Some planning and a suggested timetable will have been prepared prior to this meeting. This does not mean that there is no opportunity for things too be changed a little! The meeting will be held at the Community Centre on Wednesday 29 September at 5:00pm. A reminder will be made closer to the date.
Photos
Here are some photos from the past. Walkers please keep taking photos when you are out and about and email them to peter@jville.kiwi preferably small size (around 450kb).
