Alison’s Corner
This week we have Paul Jones having a birthday in the middle of the week and right at the end of the week Barry Prosser is having his birthday. We trust that both have an enjoyable special day. (We trust that anyone we missed also had an enjoyable special day.)
Covid Protection
"We trust that all walkers have been double vaccinated". There was an issue on Friday with an unvaccinated walker getting rides in the cars. Please, if you are not fully vaccinated don't put other walkers at risk by doing this.
Christmas Lunch - Bring a Pen
Firstly for those catching the bus please be at the bus stop in Lakewood Drive outside the Shopping Centre at 11:15am.(Wednesday 24th November 2021) Brian Alderson will be there to assist. There should be 52 of you with another 40 getting there some other way. We are asking that the bus let you all off outside a few minutes after 12:00pm; thereby giving the bar staff time to get in place. For those travelling by car etc, we are asking you to wait till 12:05pm before entering. The pen is important as there is a quiz to fill in. It is a friendly simple quiz relating to the walking group and guesses will do for just about all the answers. Later on the answers will be checked off by the person next to you. Also there will be a walking group take on Bingo organised kindly by Rowena Rowe for which a pen will be very useful. The bus returning to Churton Park for those using it will leave at 3:30pm. You can access the drinks menu here. Bring a pen!
Last Weeks Walks
The weather on Wednesday was fine but very windy. A total of 49 turned up for the Maungaraki walks with this made up of 9 PP’s, 23 SS’s and 17 FF’s. Just about everyone also enjoyed a coffee etc at the nearby Benedict’s CafĂ©. We have heard that two of our walkers had little falls. We wish them well with their recovery from their minor mishaps. On Thursday evening after one of Wellington’s better days 5 walkers headed into the bush of Crofton Downs and on Friday, 20 of the Friday Walkers walked from Kaitoke to Te Maura lakes with a coffee etc afterwards at the Te Maura Golf Club.
This Weeks Walks
This week instead of walking we are lunching. Although there are no organised walks, those that are interested in a short walk can turn up at 9:00 at the usual spot in the New World Carpark and see if there are any like minded people who you can complete a short walk with.
Cancellation
Hopefully nothing will be cancelled this week.
Happy Lunching for all participants.

Photos
This week we are spoilt for choice - thanks to our enthusiastic photographers. Walkers please try and take a photo of each group on walking days and email them to peter@jville.kiwi preferably small size (around 450kb).
