Convenor’s Comment

Alison’s Corner

June is not a very popular birthday month with our walkers with only one birthday recorded on our records and this birthday is not this coming week.  Again if there is anyone having a special day or event in the coming week we trust that they have a very enjoyable day.

Friday Night "Drinkies"

These were held at Sprig and Fern, Tawa, and we had a good crowd of over 40 walkers.  Next month we are back to Simmer.

Last Weeks Walks

Everyone seemed to enjoy “John’s Wainui Hill Challenge”. The lack of wind and the warm sunshine helped a lot.  We trust that all made it to the top.  The Pleasure Pacers enjoyed their shoreline walk in the calm air and warm sunshine to the extent that they lengthened the walk.  It also seems that the after walk coffee at differing venues of walkers choice worked well and hopefully it reduced the large queues which we quite often get.

Mid Winter 8th Anniversary Dinner

You and your partner are invited to attend the 8th Anniversary Dinner of the Churton Park Community Walkers, details of which are:

Date: Saturday,  July 31 2021
Time: 6 pm start
Venue:  Johnsonville Bowling Club
Cost: $40
Dress: Smart Casual
Bring: Money for raffles and game, as well as a pen!!!!
Bar: Cash or eftpos bar,  no credit available

We ask that you please confirm your probable attendance by email by Friday 11 June 2021.  Then we require the payment of the $40 per head by Friday 16th July 2021.

Please use the Churton Park Community Walkers Account No: 02-0524-0233091-000 using name/s and CPCW dinner as reference.  Alternatively the money can be given in a sealed envelope to Keith Thomas with name/s and CPCW anniversary dinner written on outside.  (Correct money please as no change will be given).  We have had a good response so far but plenty of space still left.

Enjoy your walks.
