Walk Details for Wednesday 12th February:
This Week's Walks: Quite a few walkers will be heading around Mana Island, but there are also a heap of others at home that may want to take on a local walk. If so, we have three walks starting in the carpark of Alex Moore Park. The walks are noted below. The FFs and PPs walks are new walks, but the PPs is a walk from the past. All walks are to start at 9:20am. (The walks were originally described as McLintock Street North, but the parking was not going to work so back to Alex Moore Parkfor easier parking.)
(We must also note the good work of Brian Alderson in organising the ferry to and from Mana Island and the good price per head he managed to negotiate. We trust all walkers going enjoy their day on Mana Island.)
PPs: A 5.37km loop on footpaths and tracks. The walk can be shortened at any point. There are a few moderate climbs which can’t be avoided. You can see the walk here.
SSs: A 6.59km loop using the streets and connecting tracks of Johnsonville. A new walk, but the same old streets. You can see the walk here.
FFs: A 7.89km loop also using the streets and connecting tracks - very similar to the SS’s walk, but extending further into Johnsonville. You can see the walk on Mapometer here and on Plotaroute here.
Parking: Parking is in the Alex Moore Park carpark in Bannister Avenue. (Our usual parking for Johnsonville Walks)
Coffee: Nothing organised. There are some good choices including Simmer and Thyme and a couple of others in Johnsonville itself.
