This Week's Walks: Back to Churton Park this week. All three walks are a repeat of walks we have done in the past. Although the walks are very local, we will stick to the usual starting time to avoid any confusion. So all of the walks are to start at 9:20am from the designated starting point.
PPs: A 4.21km loop walk heading out via the nearby valley with a return via streets. As the streets are in Churton Park some of them are bound to be a little uphill, but the others will then be downhill or flat! You can see the walk here.
SSs: A 6.20km loop walk taking in both the valley tracks and returning via streets and tracks. You can see the walk here.
FFs: A 7.54km loop using the recent hill track with its zigzag climb with some steps. The walk also takes in the valley tracks as well. You can see the walk on Mapometer here and on Plotaroute here.
Parking: Parking is in the Churton Park New World carpark. Please keep to the south-eastern corner of this carpark.
Coffee: We will advise Simmer that a number of us will be returning for coffee. There is also Thyme nearby.
Happy walking.

Friday Night Drinks
2nd May, Johnsonville Club
Usual time: 5ish
This week we are trialling drinks/food at a new venue. Our monthly gathering will be held this coming Friday at the Johnsonville Club.
Johnsonville Club, situated at the top of Norman Lane (click here for a map), has plenty of parking both underneath and alongside the Club, as well as parking in the old Motor Doctors building.
The club requires non-members to sign in. David and I will be on hand to sign-in those who are not members, however anyone who is a member of an affiliated organisation such as RSA does not need to sign in.
The club offers Happy Hour 3-6pm and an extensive dinner menu for those wanting to eat ($20-$26 for mains).

Our Sponsors:
We have a number of sponsors which we list on our Home Page and in our Newsletter. In recognition of the generosity of our sponsors, the committee has decided to also highlight one sponsor each week in our newsletter. This week we have chosen Gillian Cross Collective First National as our featured sponsor:

Gillian Cross is a very familiar face to most of us in the walking group. She has over 30 years experience in real estate in Churton Park and during that time she has seen many houses emerge from bare sections to established homes and gardens – and she has sold some of those homes a number of times! Gillian has been a very longstanding supporter of the walking group, contributing very generously.
CPCW encourage you to support Gillian at Collective First National - she provides a wealth of knowledge and professional service to our community. She has been a great supporter of CPCW and we encourage you to support her in return.
Gillian Cross, Collective First National, 101c Westchester Drive, Churton Park
Phone: 021 234 2314
Email: gillian.cross@collectivefn.co.nz
Reminder
Please ensure that you inform your group’s leader if you leave a walk partway through.
Cancellations
If the walks are cancelled an email will be sent out as early as possible but definitely before 8:00am.

Your editor's advancing years prove problematic as he struggles more and more with his memory. At least he has remembered to produce the newsletter this week, but as he tried to assemble photos for this week he kept thinking - nobody has sent me any photos of Wednesday's walk. Duh! Weather put paid to Wednesday's walk - there were no photos to be sent! Dear Readers - do please advise your editor of anything untoward occurring in these newsletters - who knows what might slip past.

Thursday's walkers stayed local and walked around Churton Park. The group welcomed Matt Fawkes to CPCW. Thank you to Matt for providing this photo showing how much darker conditions are for the Thursday forays as we near the end of April:

Friday's walkers headed out from Bothamley Park, in Cannons Creek, and walked for 12km on tracks and streets around Porirua East and Aotea. The weather on Anzac Day, like Good Friday one week earlier, was stunning - thank you to Clint Davis who organised the walk and the weather! Thanks to Gay Hoffman for this photo of the later group.
