Last Weeks Walks

The three walks all included a walk through the low lying reserve at the end of Porirua Harbour and then a stroll or fast walk along the north eastern shoreline of the harbour with a circuit of Motukaraka Point and then a return via the road.  There were about 8 PP’s, 27 SS’s and 24 FF’s making a total of about 59 walkers.  Quite a few visited Groundup for Coffee and others visited the Lighthouse Cinema for their coffee.

There were 6 Thursday Night Crawlers out and about locally on Thursday night and on Friday some 13 Friday Walkers headed around various parts of Brooklyn and Holloway Road surrounds.

Wednesday 16^th February 2022

The three walks this Wednesday are all based in the south end of Tawa.  These are all walks we have enjoyed in the past.

PP’s: A 4.53km loop walk out along a path parallel to the railway and back along the Main Street.  You can view the walk here.

SS’s: A 6.31km loop walk that extends into the suburb of Redwood. You can view the walk here.

FF’s: A 7.21km loop walk that extends even further into the suburb of Redwood and the bush tracks beyond. You can view the walk here.

Parking

Parking is in the Outlet City (previously Dress Smart) carpark. Generally there is plenty of parking at the north end of the carpark.

Coffee

Coffee is at Gloria Jeans Coffees Tawa which is in the southern end of the Outlet Centre Building.

Cancellation

The normal cancellation before 8:00am will be sent by email if required.

Koha

Remember that if you rely on others for your transport most weeks then a small $2 payment for a nearby walk and a $4 payment for a longer walk would help to lessen the costs a little for those providing the transport.
