We now have less than two weeks before enjoying our anniversary function so, if you have not already done so, please book now for this function at The Pines from 6pm on 29 July.  The cost for those attending is $42 per person.  We are providing a bus service from Churton Park at 5.30pm (and return at 9.45pm) for those who would like to travel together to the venue.  This will cost only $6 per person.

If you wish to attend please make payment ($48 for function and bus or $42 for function only) to 02-0524-0233091-000 quoting your name.  No other reference is necessary but if you wish to add “dinner” that’s fine.  No cash payments please.

Last Weeks Walks

Our Wednesday walkers journeyed to Lyall Bay for the three walks last week.  There were 7 pleasure pacers, 23 steady steppers and 20 fast footers.  On Thursday five walkers went from Churton Park to Johnsonville and return (accompanied by Red).  On Friday there were 16 walkers taking in Hawkins Hill after a start from, and return to, Ashton Fitchett Drive in Brooklyn.  A distance of 16.8kms.

This Weeks Walks (Wednesday 19 July)

This weeks walks are a repeat of some walks carried out about 18 months ago and are all based in the Northland/Wilton Area.

PP’s: A 3.52 km clockwise loop walk initially along a track then up a bit of a hill out to the street and then back to the cars along the street via a footpath.  The track was checked on Saturday morning and only had a few minor areas of mud, probably not even enough to dirty your shoes.  You can see the walk here.

SS’s: A 5.75km anti clockwise loop and taking in a bit of the Northland hill.  (Not too much.) Walk on footpaths in northland  and then back through bush for about the last 1/3 of the walk.  The track was checked on Saturday morning and only had a few minor areas of mud, probably not even enough to dirty your shoes.  You can see the walk here.

FF’s: A 6.86km anti clockwise loop walk taking in the quite a lot of the Northland hill and then back via a bush track.  Hills of course.  You can see the walk here.

Parking

Parking for all three groups is in the parking area of Ian Galloway Park.  Turn right off Wilton Road just past Cardinal McKeefrey School.

Coffee

Coffee can be back a Simmer. We will let them know that a group of us will be turning up. There are other Cafés on the way home should walkers want a change.  (Walkers’ choice.)

Website

When you open the website to view your walk have a quick look at the “Home Page”.  This usually has a new picture each week generally showing a view from one of our walks.

Cancellation

If the walks are cancelled an email will be sent out as early as possible but definitely before 8:00am.

Enjoy your walks.
Brian Vincent.
