Last Weeks Walks

Another good turnout for all the weekly walks – which were undertaken in nice fine weather.  Wednesday saw 16 fast footers, 24 steady steppers and 5 pleasure pacers walking around the streets alongside or near to the Botanical Gardens.

On Thursday 7 walkers enjoyed a cool evening for their walk from Johnsonville through Paparangi to Newlands and return.

Friday’s walk from Johnsonville to Ngaio/Khandallah via Mt Kaukau and return, saw 15 walkers complete the 14kms route.

Food and Drinks.

Yes it is that time again to spend the early evening enjoying the food and drinks at Sprig and Fern in Tawa starting at 5pm.  We’ll see you there.

This Weeks Walks (Wednesday 5 July)

This Weeks Walks:  Walks previously carried out in August 2021 are the walks for the PP’s and SS’s this coming Wednesday.  The FF’s have a new walk which is similar to the old August 2021 walk but a touch shorter.

PP’s: A 4.48 km walk which includes a small loop and then an out and back leg that can be lengthened or shortened to meet the wishes of the walkers.  You can see the walk here.

SS’s: A 5.86 km loop walk out into the suburb of Paremata and returning by a different route.  The walk is on a mixture of footpaths and tracks.  You can see the walk here.

FF’s: A 6.53 km loop walk touring the streets of Paremata.  Footpaths and tracks.  You can see the walk here.

Parking

Parking for all three groups is within Ngati Toa Domain.  Park as near to the entrance as you can; if all parks are taken there is lots of parking further within the Domain; this just means a bit more walking.  The park entrance is left at the first set of lights along Mana Esplanade.

Coffee

Coffee is Columbus Café in Mitre 10 Mega, Porirua.  We have warned them that a good few of us will be coming.   The alternative café is back home at Simmer.

Website

When you open the website to view your walk have a quick look at the “Home Page”.  This usually has a new picture each week generally showing a view from one of our walks.

Cancellation

If the walks are cancelled an email will be sent out as early as possible but definitely before 8:00am.

Enjoy your walks.
Brian Vincent.
