Last Weeks Walks
The weather was not suitable, the tracks may have been slippery and any likely improvement in the weather too doubtful for a trip all the way to Te Whiti Park so these Wednesday walks were cancelled. A suggestion to any walkers who were still interested in walking to meet at Simmer saw 3 PP’s and 11 FF’s arrive. The PP’s we believe carried out a local walk and the FF’s started local but ended up in Johnsonville with a walk that ended up much longer than the normal Wednesday one’s. The weather had improved and no one got wet. Thursday night saw the “Thursday Night Crawlers” out locally with 5 taking part and on Friday, 19 Friday Walkers headed to Johnsonville via Mt Kaukau, Rifle Range Road, and Old Coach Road.
DD’s
Two emails were received clarifying that DD’s stood for Dandy Dawdlers and one email also confirmed that their numbers were recorded as a subset of the PP’s.
Christmas Break
The walks carried out this past week were the last formal walks for the year. Walks are to resume on the 19th January 2022. The January Schedule has been updated. However we trust that everyone gets a few walks in over the break and comes back on the 19th rearing to go.
Friday Night Drinkies
How about “Wednesday Night 22nd December Drinkies” as the last walking group event for the year. So if you are free come and join us and others at the Sprig and Fern Wednesday 22nd December at 5:00pm.
Nothing is planned for the first Friday of January. However we will sound out to see if there is interest and also if the venue is happy to have us and then take it from there. An email would confirm if this is going ahead.
Trust all walkers have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and of course a good break. (But keep up the walking!)
