Last Weeks Walks

Last week surprisingly the Pleasure Pacers were given a walking opportunity to have their Wednesday walk in Swansea but no one took up the offer and the walk was quickly reverted correctly to Woodridge.  This week we have given the Steady Steppers the opportunity to choose as well, one walk with all the others in the Eastbourne area and the other a bit further afield if they so choose (own costs).  Anyway there was a good turnout for last weeks walks in the Woodbridge area with 18 PP’s, 30 SS’s and 17 FF’s making a total of 65 Wednesday Walkers.  Thursday’s weather was not good but still some 5 or 6 Thursday Night Crawlers headed around the local streets but with thunder and lightning about the Friday Walk was cancelled.

Koha

Every week we leave a note about Koha in the newsletter.  We have no idea what private sharing arrangements are in place regarding getting rides but we trust that those who don’t regularly bring cars do make up for it in some small way, be it buying a coffee for the driver or by making some small cash donation.

Photos

Here are some photos from last week.  Walkers please try and take a photo of each group on walking days and email them to peter@jville.kiwi preferably small size (around 450kb).

This week's walks

We are heading to Eastbourne for this weeks walks.  The Pleasure Pacers and the Steady Steppers will keep to the street areas and leave the the uphill bush tracks to the Fast Footers.  The PP’s and FF’s are parking in the same area but the SS’s are parking in a different spot.

PP’s: A 4.14 loop taking in part of the Eastbourne coast and back via the streets.  No mud; no hills!  It could be cut short if required.   You can view the walk here.

SS’s: A 5.16km leg and loop walk taking in the coast both in Days Bay and Eastbourne.  All flat and on footpaths or playing fields etc.  The alternative loop walk is a little longer and will probably be more time consuming.   You can view the walk here.   You can view the alternative walk here.

FF’s: A 5.70km loop walk mainly within the bush and a small amount on the street.  Within the bush it is on tracks which in the past have been in good condition.   You can view the walk here.

Parking:

Parking for the SS’s is in Days Bay using the street parking as first preference and perhaps some of the Pavilion’s parking if needed.

Parking for the PP’s and FF’s is in Muritai Road anywhere between Kauri and Konini Streets or in Kauri and Konini Streets if needed.

Coffee

This will be at the Pavilion; Days Bay.  We will advise them that we will be coming.

Cancellation

If required will be by email at 7:30am.

Happy May Walking

Koha

Remember that if you rely on others for your transport most weeks then a small $2 payment for a nearby walk and a $4 payment for a longer walk would help to lessen the costs a little for those providing the transport.

Laugh

I took my suit to the cleaners, who wanted to charge me $25.  I gave my suit to the charity shop next door.  They cleaned and pressed it and put it in the window.  I bought it for $10.99.
