Our 10th Anniversary Dinner

We have now advised The Pines of the numbers attending for their catering purposes and payment is being confirmed.   For those attendees who are travelling by car please try to car pool as the parking is limited.  Remember to bring some cash with you for purchasing drinks at the bar and most importantly for participating in the raffles. Once again we are very fortunate with the generosity of our sponsors and we thank then for their support. It will probably be useful to bring a pen or pencil as well.  Raffle tickets will be $2 per ticket or $5 for three.

Last week our Wednesday walks took in the Wilton /Northland area with 6 pleasure pacers, 28 steady steppers and 13 fast footers.  The Thursday group of 4 walked around Churton Park and on Friday 15 walkers proceeded along the Seatoun Heights- Eastern Walkway.

Reminder

Please ensure that you inform your group’s leader if you leave a walk partway through.

This Weeks Walks (Wednesday 26 July)

This Weeks Walks:  Pukerua Bay is the base for our walks this coming Wednesday.  These are all old walks from 2018 and repeated one other time a couple of years ago.  They all include a short section of the beach.  The tides have been checked and we will be there at low tide so no problem with wet feet.  (One of the simple houses you can spot on the beach front was the subject of an episode of Grand Designs.)

PP’s: A  4.58km loop walk that is on tracks, footpaths and a short stretch of beach.  There are some steps down to the beach and a few back up.  You can see the walk here.

SS’s: A 5.86km loop walk  that is also on tracks, footpaths and a short stretch of beach.  There are also some steps up from the beach.  You can see the walk here.

FF’s: A 6.66km loop walk which includes a there and back leg to take in an excellent view point. One leg of this is uphill of course.   You can see the walk here.

 Parking

Parking for all three groups is in Rawhiti Road in the area opposite the school.  Once you have entered Pukerua Bay turn left at the first oppurtunity (Teihana Road West) and the right into Rawhiti Road.

Coffee

We have told the Café in Palmers Plimmerton that a good size group of us will be arriving for coffee.

Website

When you open the website to view your walk have a quick look at the “Home Page”.  This usually has a new picture each week generally showing a view from one of our walks.

Cancellation

If the walks are cancelled an email will be sent out as early as possible but definitely before 8:00am.

Enjoy your walks.
Brian Vincent.
