Churton Park Community Walkers

Last Weeks Walks

All our groups managed to complete their walks last week.  The Wednesday walkers (60 in total) ventured up to Queen Elizabeth II Park and after their walks a number stayed for the very pleasant picnic.  The 13 Pleasure Pacers walked a distance of 4.1 kms, the Steady Steppers did 5.6 kms and the Fast Footers 7.2 kms. On Thursday nine walkers went to Grenada/Horokiwi and completed a distance of 5.5 kms.  The Friday group (with less numbers than usual, no doubt due to our upcoming trip to New Plymouth) walked 12.2 kms at Waiwhetu.

2023 Christmas lunch Function

Once again a reminder about our Christmas lunch to be held at The Pines on 29 November 2023.   Bus transport will be available from Churton Park for this event – pickup and departure times to follow shortly.

The bus cost is $10 per person and the lunch is $42 per person.  The Pines is an excellent venue and the lunch that they provided last year was superb.  We can expect the same standards again this year.

Please book by paying either $52 (bus and lunch) per person or $42 (lunch only) into our Bank account  02-0524-0233091-000  -  Just add the word “Christmas” in the reference field.

Looking forward to celebrating the Festive season with everyone.

Reminder

Please ensure that you inform your group’s leader if you leave a walk partway through.

This Weeks Walks (Wednesday 8 November)

This Weeks Walks:  Although a good number of the regular walkers are away in New Plymouth we have still prepared three local walks for those left behind.  The three walks are based in Khandallah.  With reduced numbers it is best for all those intending to walk to meet at the New World carpark just prior to 9:00am and sort out a group or three depending who turns up and take it from there.  Most of the usual organisers will be away so it will be up to those who turn up to do their own organising.

PP’s: A 3.8km loop walk with only minor hills around the streets of Khandallah.  You can see the walk here.

SS’s: A 5.62km loop all on streets with nothing too steep.  You can see the walk here.

FF’s: A 6.6km loop walk.  Some hills.  You can see the walk here.

Enjoy your walks
