All three Wednesday groups visited the Botanical Gardens last week. There were 21 Fast Footers, 24 Steady Steppers and 13 Pleasure Pacers. Six walkers went around Churton Park on Thursday evening. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the proposed Friday walk due to the weather.

This Weeks Walks (Wednesday 22 November)
Back sort of local this week with all walks in Linden. The walks have been referenced in the schedule as “Gee Street” but a little more research is required for those walks so the walks are now from two different points in Linden, both starting points we have used before.
PP’s: A 3.76km loop walk using the streets and walkways of Linden, Tawa. If the walkers felt like a little bit more there is a short loop within the Wild Mexted Reserve that is nearby the parking for the main part of the walk. You can see the walk here.
SS’s: A 5.39km loop partly on a uphill track with the rest along streets. There are some very good large and interesting properties to view as you walk along the streets. You can see the walk here.
FF’s: A 7.80km loop walk that starts in Hinau Street and then heads into the tracks within Wilf Mexted and Woodburn Reserves and returns along several streets and walkways. You can see the walk here.
Parking
The parking for all both the SS’s and PP’s groups starts where Collins Avenue becomes Woodman Drive with drivers then finding parking where they can along Woodburn Drive and the offshoot streets. Walkers can then congregate at the intersection of Woodburn Drive and Peckham Grove before heading off for the walks.
Parking for the FF’s is in Hinau Street opposite Kowhai Street about halfway between McLellan Street and Linden Avenue.
Coffee
We have shown on the schedule that coffee is at Columbus Coffee, Mitre 10 Mega. We have not booked there this time as it is not on our way home, instead we have told Gloria Jeans Café in the Outlet Centre (Dressmart) that a good number of walkers will be coming there for coffee etc.
Enjoy your walks

When you open the website to view your walk have a quick look at the “Home Page”. This usually has a new picture each week generally showing a view from one of our walks.
Cancellation
If the walks are cancelled an email will be sent out as early as possible but definitely before 8:00am.
